Sweet Tooth??

I have a MAJOR sweet tooth! What can I do? I can't help my self! And it's not JUST candy. I eat starches like bread, potatoes, and all sorts of stuff!

Sweet Tooth??
I have the very same problem and it turned out that I am diabetic. I had to have something sweet after each meal and mid-afternoon I had to have ice cream! This could also be a symptom of your thyroid. I suggest you have tests done. I think a T1 for thyroid and A1C for diabetes might give you more information. I have controlled my sweet tooth with the medicine for diabetes. Oh yeah, I've lost 50 pounds since I stopped the sugar which has also helped control the diabetes. Good luck.
Reply:There are food supplements you may want to try for that. I think the name for one is Q10 or something like that. Go to your local health store/pharmacist and they will be able to tell you.
Reply:what about substituting some healthier sweet things. if you like bananas, mash them up, freeze them a little, mash them up again and then freeze again. almost like banana icecream. Frozen bananas make great smoothies when blended with skim milk and a little honey. Frozen berries are great too.
Reply:If you exercise a lot this is understandable

Substitution may be the way to go. Instead of potatoe, try sweet potatoe. Instead of sugar, artifical sweetner. Eat more fruit. Instead of lollies try licorice. always choose a food lower in carbs and sugar than the one you really want. It works for me, I have the same problem.
Reply:SOUNDS TO ME LIKE YOUR A DIABETIC. YOU MAY WANT TO ASK YOUR DOCOTOR TO HAVE IT CHECKED ITS SIMPLE BLOOD TEST. I WAS THE SAME WAY AND MY WEIGHT BALLONED. I AM NOW A FULL BLOWN DIABETIC INSILIN DEPENDENT AND NOT LIKING IT. I STILL CRAVE SWEETS. I WISH SOMEONE WOULD COME UP WITH A DRUG FOR A DIABETIC THAT WOULD MAKE THE SWEET CRAVINGS GO AWAY THEN WE WOULDNT BE DIABETICS.
Reply:How about apples! They are sweet and if you cut them up into small bits and eat them the taste lasts longer. Also try freezing small cups of diet/ no fat yoghurt. Taste great and few callories

Sweet tooth...?

my roommate is really health concerned and always tells me that i will regret eating junk foods and sweet now... but i don't see why, im not gaining any weight now, what concequences could my sweet tooth have???

is it really bad that i eat ice cream every night???

i have a small belly, it doesn't go out over my jeans or anything gross, but should i try to "tone" my belly, as my roommate calls it???

Sweet tooth...?
I wouldnt be to worried about it. the only thing i would worry about is the teeth. brush them alot or you'll regret it. i dont see ice cream that bad. but try and steer away from alot of chocolate. its bad for your skin and clogs your arteries.
Reply:just because the fat isnt showing on the outside, it doesnt mean that its not showing on the inside. Ur arteries might be clogged. Then again.. if u are young and not obese then u shouldnt really worry. But ice cream every nite does sound too much. Sounds like are addicted to it. Sweets can also ruin ur teeth.. so if u value a pretty smile (which society does) u should cut down on sweets. Sugar really is an ingredient that isnt good for ur body in general so i guess cutting down on sugar is always a good thing.

I have a major sweet tooth and am still learning how to cook. I want a recipe for something sweet and Yummy. Thanks

Sweet tooth?
Here's a solution to help you through both chocolate/sweet and salty cravings:

Buy those large pretzel rods and dip them into a bowl of melted chocolate chips. Before they completely cool and the chocolate hardens, roll them in chopped nuts.
Reply:How 'bout chocolate chip cookies? It doesn't get any easier than that, and the recipe is on the back of the chocolate chip bag. They're my fav
Reply:chinees sweat and sour chicken....yummy!!!!
Reply:Rice Krispie Treats....so good and very easy to make!

The recipie is on the rice krispie website.
Reply:Peanut butter and chocolate chips in a bowl. Eat. lol

Cherry Enchiladas

Submitted by: Brigantine

Rated: 5 out of 5 by 17 members Prep Time: 20 Minutes

Cook Time: 40 Minutes Ready In: 9 Hours

Yields: 5 servings

"Cherry Pie like you've never had it before! Cherry pie filling wrapped in flour tortillas, soaked overnight in a sweet liquid, then baked. I used to work at a bed and breakfast, and we would make this sometimes for catered luncheons. I added my own touch with the almonds."

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup white sugar

5 (10 inch) flour tortillas

1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling

2 tablespoons white sugar

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon crushed sliced

almonds

DIRECTIONS:

1. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Combine the water, butter and 1/2 cup of sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Place a few spoonfuls of cherry pie filling just slightly off center of each tortilla. Roll up and place seam side down in the baking dish. Pour the hot liquid over the 'enchiladas' making sure to coat the tops completely. The mixture will be watery. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

2. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Combine 2 tablespoons sugar, cinnamon and almonds in a small bowl or cup; sprinkle over the top of the enchiladas.

3. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, or until outside edges of the tortillas are golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
Reply:I like to bake an extra thick chocolate cake plain

Instead of icing it either you can eat it with cool whip or add strawberries in syrup (usually found in freezer section) and enjoy an easy dessert for summer. tada

Ive got a bad sweet tooth and its gotten me loads of cavitys and i dont want anymore but if i eat a load of sweets then brush my teeth start after will i still get cavitys?

Sweet tooth?
brushing after eating sweets can control cavities but some times in pits %26amp; fissers its imposible to clean.
Reply:If you brush your teeth afterwards it should help. Cavities are caused when sugar stays on your teeth long enough to cause problems.
Reply:you shouldnt be eating loads of sweets in the first place. not good for you. i guess you wouldnt get as much if you brush your teeth after every meal.
Reply:if you follow proper oral hygiene, the chances of getting any further cavities are very rare. Normally, after eating sweets, always gargle your mouth with tap water so that whatever food particles that may have been stuck to your teeth are also removed. And yes brushing twice or even three times helps a lot in prevention of cavity formation.
Reply:Also, chewing sugarless gum can help. It gets the particles off that might just otherwise stay on your teeth. Additionally, if you have gum in your mouth already, you might not be as likely to reach for something sweet! ;-)

Sweet tooth ?

I have a BAD case of the sweet tooth :(

Im on a diet, and cant stomach anything else even if ive only had 2 quite small meals that day and then i see something sweet and kind of go WAY OVER THE TOP !

I have bad teeth, and this is affecting my diet, so how can i try not to.

ONLY ANSWER IF YOUR GONNA HELP :@

Sweet tooth ?
Drink some christal light - it has no calories and give a slight sweet taste.

Also, if you do have room to eat one day - they have low calories sweets that are 80 calories like healthy choice fudge icecream bars, carrot cake (a tiny peice but enough to get reed of the sweet tooth with little consequences), blueberry muffins with oats on top. they are great!!

okay if you don't want bulky food, then get you some werther's originals the suger free kind... you can eat 5 pieces of candy for 45 calories... it not bulky for when you are full and it gives you a sweet taste.

Also, if you have bad teeth, especailly problems with the gums you should research "oil pulling".

Pull it up on google and put quotation marks around those words and you will find a natural remedy that has been used in eastern medicine for hundreds of years.

My dad's teeth were loose, some rotten, and the dentist told him that he would have to get them all pulled and wear plates, but he didn't do this cause he wanted his natural teeth.

He just did this technique and now his teeth are stable and no longer has to get them pulled... how sweet is that!!

Anyway, I hope this helps you - Goood Luck!!! :- )

Sweet Tooth?

I have a very sweet tooth and I love chocolate and sweets, I also take sugar in my tea. I hate the taste of artificial sweeteners, but I'm looking for some way to cut down the amount of sugar I'm eating, because I have lots of cavities in my teeth and I've been gaining weight as well. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can cut down? And don't just suggest artificial sweeteners, because I've just said I HATE the taste!!!

Reply:Anyone who exercises intensely on a regular basis will know the answer to the question of how to cure sweet cravings, which is, of course, significant cardiovascular exercise.

It always amazes me how my appetite, especially for sweets, dramatically decreases after exercise.

Now Japanese investigators have performed rat experiments that validate this observation. My guess is the mechanism is related to a dramatic reduction in insulin levels after exercise.

Elevated insulin levels are one of the primary reasons for food cravings and if insulin levels are reduced, many of these cravings disappear. So if you haven't already picked up the exercise habit, here is a powerful motivation to do so if you struggle with sweet cravings.

Grains and sugars are often an overlooked addiction and the way to manage any addiction is though complete abstinence.

The reason most people struggle with giving up sugar is that they are still eating grains. The grains break down to sugar and perpetuate the addiction. Eliminating grains and sugars and eating properly for your metabolic type are discussed in detail in my new book, TOTAL HEALTH Program.

So again, the solution is total abstinence from grains and sugars.

The amazing thing that happens is that in about three days, the cravings disappear.

It is important to note that it is wise to eat some animal protein and a small amount of vegetables every two hours while awake when first starting this approach.

This will compensate for the secondary hypoglycemia that tends to occur when stopping suddenly stopping sugars and grains. These symptoms would be lightheadedness, fatigue, headache and a decrease in the ability to focus and concentrate.

This is only necessary to do for several days, as after that time most people's insulin levels will come into a new balance.

It's important to remember that no matter how devoted you are to a healthy lifestyle, it is nearly impossible to reach your goals if emotional barriers stand in your way. The energy psychology tool EFT uses a combination of kinetic energy input and positive affirmations to release you of your emotional "blocks."
Reply:if your not into exercise a whole lot even though its good for you try to take a product that blocks carb cravings and it should help a lot

Sweet Tooth?

I have a problem, I always indulge in sweets. My weakness is definitely my sweet tooth. Is there anything I can do to stop the craving? What can I do to not eat so much sweets? Thanks for your help. Happy New Year!!

Sweet Tooth?
It is similar to most addictions. The first few days are the hardest and then it gets progressively easier. If it was a real problem for me I would quit just like I would quit smoking. As time goes on you will crave it less.

You could also try some sugarfree stuff.

Another idea is to find something not-sweet to keep your mouth busy, one idea is to suck on cinnamon bark, it is good for your breath and healthy too.

Sweet Tooth?

I consider myself a fairly healthy eater, i usually confine myself to carbs in the morning, whole wheat toast etc and through out the day my main meals consist of lots of vegetables and protein and for snacks i eat fruit. However, i have a bit of a sweet tooth, i was just wondering if there is anything i can eat that would satisfy my sweet tooth that wont undo my whole day. I cant eat fruit anymore then i do, i kind of get tired of it, I dont like the taste of yogurt(i know, im weird) so i cant have yoplait etc and I definately dont want to have baked goods or cookies. I dont indulge in any sugar free things either. See how i'm stuck here? Could anyone recommend some healthy sweets for me, even though that sounds like an oxymoron.

Thanks!

Sweet Tooth?
I know you said no more fruits, but you can dip bananas in some dark chocolate and coat it with granola or wheatgerm.

Honey also works well for this in case you don't eat chocolate.

Nuts covered in dark chocolate.

Dark chocolate in moderation is actually good for you.

Applesauce with some cinnamon sprinkled on top.

Lo cal icecream small amount and top with favorite fruit, wheatgerm, a little honey or a little chocolate if it is dark
Reply:I am very sorry I can not help you but I am just saying this
Reply:How about honey roasted sunflower nuts? I pop about a tablespoon into my mouth when I have a sweet craving. 1/4 cup is 190 calories, 2g sugar, 2g fiber, 6g protein, and 4% calcium.
Reply:Try drinking lots of skim milk, and eat bananas. A friend of mine is on the cabbage diet, and this at 8 servings of each is what this diet recommends.(It 's working for her!)
Reply:Try the 100 calorie packs they have come out with. There are a wide variety. That way you will not feel guilty and you can still satisfy your sweet tooth.
Reply:Applesauce or fruit bars(Archer Farms) you can buy them at Target that helps me stay away from chocolate and other overly sugary things.
Reply:Honey roast peanuts good all around!
