I have a really bad sweet tooth. I am trying to diet. But I can't seem to kick my M%26amp;M and ice cream habit. What can I do?? Please help me!!!!
How do I control my sweet tooth??
I have an unusual trick for this - as I could eat nothing but sugar if I didn't know it was bad for me. First, I allow myself one serving of dessert or sweets a day, if I feel I must.
Then when I think I'm about to give in and eat sweets again I put 3 Tablespoons of organic Apple Cider Vinegar into some juice, tea, water - however you can get it down (it gets easier with practice). Give it about 1/2 hour or so, and you might just forget about your craving if you go about doing something else in the meantime.
It works for me - takes that craving away! I suddenly don't feel so desperate to eat sweets any longer. And the stuff is actually good for you :^) I'm 5'4 1/2 and weigh about 118 (after Valentines, Easter, etc.etc.) And, don't forget to exercise. I find a walk before dinner often reduces my appetite. Good luck!
Reply:eats sweet fruits and cool whip...mmmm
Reply:dont be a baby. if u want to diet. discipline discipline discipline is a must. grow up.The best way to loose weight is to do naturally. The body will accept it better. Take half the intake, eat half what u normally eat. 3 light meals a day. No sugar stuff. Soft drinks are no good. Plain water is the best. No sweet drinks and no snack. Do not eat between meals. Have regular time meals. Do not eat before bed. No supper. Breakfast is a must. Take a light lunch. A lighter dinner. Less red meat, if possible take fish. The best way to eat fish is to steam it. More vegetables and take 2 kinds of fruits per day. If u decide to stop meat a better replacement would to take beancurd.
Reply:Check out hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) as the possible source of your sweet tooth. If so, then in between meal snacks of protein and low glycemic carbs and good fats will help curb the sweet tooth.
Reply:Swap the ice cream for popsicles or creamsicles that don't taste like popsicles or creamsicles. I love Edy's bars. Orange and Cream and Tangerine. They taste really good, have no fat, and are low in calories.
As for the M%26amp;Ms, take a handful of them and then rubberband the bag shut (really tight). So that way you have to go through more to get them. And don't keep them in reach.
If that still doesn't work, swap them for any chocolates that come in fun-size with wrappers. since you have to unwrap each individual one, you will be more aware of how much chocolate you are eating.
Reply:You need carbs your body tells you that you need sugar is because carbs are long lasting sugar unlike chocolate and ice cream your not a baby and it's a natural response so you need 3 light meals with 3 snacks all nutritous and remember carbs.
Reply:This is what works for me--keep the sweets out of the house. Avoid the grocery store and vending machine for 2 weeks so you can't buy more. If you go at least 2 weeks without sweets, your cravings will drop dramatically. Then it will be a lot easier. Especially at the beginning, it is so hard to resist sweets 24 hours a day--it just takes one moment of temptation for most people. Much easier if you can't easily access it when you want it. "Willpower" is easier said than done--most of us don't have enough of it.
Reply:The truth is nobody can actually fight off chocolates/ice-cream etc. If I bought a tub of ice-cream / or a few chocolate bars.. I will crave for it.
I can offer a few suggestions:
1. Drink lots of water - we tend to eat something when in fact we are thirsty. Use all sorts of non-sugar, non-soda water drinks to keep drinking water.
2. Don't buy any chocolates/ice-cream in bulk. Buy small packs and pace yourself. Eat only to satisfy craving.. 3-5 m-ms or spoons of ice-cream.
3. Keep these items inaccessible! This way our other limitations, namely "laziness" can help. You could get lazy enough not to go to a store every time to get these.
4. Start being picky of the shop u will buy it from.. lets 10-15 miles away, so u could get more lazy in buying them every time. You could run out of gas.. but its a different question now.. :)
5. Keep yourself full - meaning.. eat good meals.. protein/vegetables. Eat these good meals 3-4 times a day.

Yo how do I substitute my sweet tooth when i work out??
ever since I was a little kid I liked candy such as chocolate and gummi candy etc.
but now i'm grown and i work out a lot and i eat healthy, but my only problem is my sweet tooth.
i still like candy and every now and then i get the crave for it and i buy it and then i eat the whole bag at one time cause i'm greedy.
is there something i can get instead of that stuff to satisfy my sweet tooth? i need it like once a week.

I agree that fruit is a great alternative. But when only chocolate will do. I just grab a few peices of some semi-sweet baking chips. They are not as bad for you as milk chocolate but taste better than dark chocolate. Plus they are rich so you can only eat a few, and you can go it without blowing you calories out of the water.
Reply:Fruit!! Im huge on wanting to eat sour gummy worms and Ive found that eating a Granny Smith apple (the green ones) totally take that sour/sweet craving away!!
Reply:eat dryfruits
Reply:chewing fruit flavored gum

Cure for a sweet tooth so I can diet?
Frozen juice bars, fruit, fat-free and sugar free desserts, etc. There are a lot of those 100-calorie packs of desserts. Just read the labels -- keep the calorie and FAT content to a minimum.
Reply:try something like gum.
Reply:there are good sugar free candies that dont taste bad.
Reply:you can still eat wat you want, but choose smaller portion sizes
Reply:yogurt, or a yogurt mousse, really yummy
Reply:yes! nobody wants to completley give up sweets though (especially cookies!) the others are right, there are quite a few fat free foods you could try, and mixing in of course mroe fruits and vegetables. Make sure your diet is balanced! i know it sounds cliche but its very importent! i suggest going to a nutritionist, they can really help you with a plan and make sure you stay healthy! and that the diet is safe adn effective.
Reply:My wife got me on Juice Plus. We've been on it since last year and saw great results. It curbs your cravings! Go to juiceplus.com/+tc84591 I would recommend the Juice Plus capsules and the Juice Plus Complete. Hope this helps!

I have a sweet tooth!!!?
i have just noticed that i have a serious sweet tooth. i eat candy after school like every day, and drink at least 2 bottles of soda a week. i know its not good for me but im addicted. help!!!
I have a sweet tooth!!!?
Hide it...seriously. Or better yet, throw it all away and replace with healthy nutritious food.
That's what I had to do. All I was eating was junk food all day, everyday. I noticed my body responding in negative ways from all the junk (no wonder they call it junk food)...so the next time I went to the store, I bought a while bunch of healthier foods. So whenever I wanted to grab a Twinkie or cookie, I had a bunch of yummy healthier alternatives instead.
Apple chips are great b/c they're still sweet, but healthy too. Other ideas are flavored rice cakes, dried fruit, chocolate flavored yogurt, and fruit smoothies.
As for the soda, maybe keep one six pack in the fridge and limit yourself to one soda a day. Eventually, you can reduce that even more. Why don't you try different juices or carbonated fruit drinks instead? Good luck!
Reply:try not to eat so much by eating strwberries or sweet friut everyone goes thru tht phase just TRY really hard not to. eat carrots they help
Reply:I have a sweet tooth as well. Instead of drinking soda, you could drink something else, like flavored water; I like flavored water and it's more healthy for you than soda. Try changing your diet a little at a time, %26amp; eat different things. If you really like chocolate, you could get the kind of chocolate that's sugar free, like they have sugar free peppermint patties.
Reply:Your crazy just limit yourself and watch what you eat cause u don't want to be fat right. So be careful of what ur eating.
Reply:Carrots do help. Also drink diet soda instead, I am used to it, and I have friends who did not like it say the new coke zero tastes like the regular coke.
Reply:you should rotten all you teeth just playing try to slow down on nthe sodas and make sure you brush your teeth
Reply:You can eat yourself to death.

Sweet Tooth??
I have a MAJOR sweet tooth! What can I do? I can't help my self! And it's not JUST candy. I eat starches like bread, potatoes, and all sorts of stuff!
Sweet Tooth??
I have the very same problem and it turned out that I am diabetic. I had to have something sweet after each meal and mid-afternoon I had to have ice cream! This could also be a symptom of your thyroid. I suggest you have tests done. I think a T1 for thyroid and A1C for diabetes might give you more information. I have controlled my sweet tooth with the medicine for diabetes. Oh yeah, I've lost 50 pounds since I stopped the sugar which has also helped control the diabetes. Good luck.
Reply:There are food supplements you may want to try for that. I think the name for one is Q10 or something like that. Go to your local health store/pharmacist and they will be able to tell you.
Reply:what about substituting some healthier sweet things. if you like bananas, mash them up, freeze them a little, mash them up again and then freeze again. almost like banana icecream. Frozen bananas make great smoothies when blended with skim milk and a little honey. Frozen berries are great too.
Reply:If you exercise a lot this is understandable
Substitution may be the way to go. Instead of potatoe, try sweet potatoe. Instead of sugar, artifical sweetner. Eat more fruit. Instead of lollies try licorice. always choose a food lower in carbs and sugar than the one you really want. It works for me, I have the same problem.
Reply:SOUNDS TO ME LIKE YOUR A DIABETIC. YOU MAY WANT TO ASK YOUR DOCOTOR TO HAVE IT CHECKED ITS SIMPLE BLOOD TEST. I WAS THE SAME WAY AND MY WEIGHT BALLONED. I AM NOW A FULL BLOWN DIABETIC INSILIN DEPENDENT AND NOT LIKING IT. I STILL CRAVE SWEETS. I WISH SOMEONE WOULD COME UP WITH A DRUG FOR A DIABETIC THAT WOULD MAKE THE SWEET CRAVINGS GO AWAY THEN WE WOULDNT BE DIABETICS.
Reply:How about apples! They are sweet and if you cut them up into small bits and eat them the taste lasts longer. Also try freezing small cups of diet/ no fat yoghurt. Taste great and few callories

Sweet tooth...?
my roommate is really health concerned and always tells me that i will regret eating junk foods and sweet now... but i don't see why, im not gaining any weight now, what concequences could my sweet tooth have???
is it really bad that i eat ice cream every night???
i have a small belly, it doesn't go out over my jeans or anything gross, but should i try to "tone" my belly, as my roommate calls it???
Sweet tooth...?
I wouldnt be to worried about it. the only thing i would worry about is the teeth. brush them alot or you'll regret it. i dont see ice cream that bad. but try and steer away from alot of chocolate. its bad for your skin and clogs your arteries.
Reply:just because the fat isnt showing on the outside, it doesnt mean that its not showing on the inside. Ur arteries might be clogged. Then again.. if u are young and not obese then u shouldnt really worry. But ice cream every nite does sound too much. Sounds like are addicted to it. Sweets can also ruin ur teeth.. so if u value a pretty smile (which society does) u should cut down on sweets. Sugar really is an ingredient that isnt good for ur body in general so i guess cutting down on sugar is always a good thing.
