The holiday is starting to come up and I put on most of my weight on my christmas vacation. But I to know how to temporarily cure my sweet tooth. Substitutions will do just fine.
How do you cure your sweet tooth?
eat sugarless mints.
Reply:By eating the sweeter fruits, like strawberries.
Or, if you do eat a bit too much, exercise more too. ;)
Reply:Desperately wanting to eat something particular is very often our body's way to tell us what it needs. No, it doesn't need sugar, but it might need other kind of carbs, for instance dark bread or whole wheat pasta. Try to fill up with healthy carbs and that 'sweet tooth" might go away.
Reply:There is no need to "cure" your sweet tooth. You can tame it a bit however. When going to holiday parties try to load up on high fiber foods like salad and whole wheat bread if available. Also if you eat fruits that are high in water content and fruit sugars before going for the Hagen Daas you will probably fare better; melons, oranges, mango and other tropical fruits.
Avoid drinking diet sodas, Splenda and other sugar substitutes as they trick your taste buds into thinking they are getting something sweet and eventually your brain will catch up and point you towards the Chocolate Chip Cheesecake before you realize it.
If all else fails just make sure your sweet craving are as simple in ingredients as possible. Ice Cream, Pumpkin Pie and Yellow or Pound Cake tend to be safer options than Pecan Pie, Fudge and dare I say it Fruit Cake.... blech!
I hope that helps.
Reply:cool whip does the trick ....
Reply:Eat fresh apples, oranges and bananas when you have a sweet urge. Don't give in to the pastry and cookie urge. Will power; self-control; self-denial. Without this, you won't win the battle.
It may not be all smiles.
Reply:Use the recording that I used from Independent Achievement Productions. It's the company that was written up in the health magazine a few months ago. I got half portions and remove the sugar addiction. I only listen 15 minutes to these recordings a day......not much time...only took 4 days before I started to notice a big difference. I started craving spicy foods....and no longer care for the sweets. In fact, at Thanksgiving I only ate half of one slice of pie....very different from my Thanksgiving before. Good luck.
