How can I starve a sweet tooth?

Help! I'm addicted to candy. sweet tarts, tootsie rolls, jelly beans, orange slices. Can't stop grabbing. Some are addicted to cigarettes and alcohol, but I'm addicted to candy, and my waistline shows it.

Any ideas to cure my craving for sugar?, I've been like this all my life, gone months without candy, but the urge is always there...

How can I starve a sweet tooth?
interesting...i have never heard of it before.

But I just try to trade sweets with other snacks, like an apple or cucumber. Like alcoholics always crave another drink, you might always crave candy. Good luck!
Reply:Like smoking or whatever, you cannot quit cold turkey. So gradually put away the sweets. For example, when you are craving a chocolate bar try some chocolate milk.
Reply:Try apples and oranges, alot of fruit has natural sugars in them. that should help but you should remember the cardinal rule: "moderation" good luck on your quest.
Reply:Cold turkey, being careful to eliminate all sources of sugar, corn syrup, etc. You may want to eliminate white flour as well that causes a similar physiological reaction to our systems. And, if you have fake sugar, you do not learn to lose your taste for it. Try to go at least a week with nothing sweet. (Including soda!).

Instead, have a high protein snack every couple of hours. A small piece of lean meat, a handful of nuts, a boiled egg. Don't forget fruits and veggies.

After a week, you will notice much less craving. And if you do try a sweet snack, pay attention to how your body feels afterward. Do you feel lethargic after a short while? Does your craving for sugar increase after having some sugar?

Often, sweets craving is related to a blood sugar imbalance and even a protein deficiency. Consider asking your doctor to test your blood sugar or do a fasting blood sugar test at your next visit.
