I have such a sweet tooth and I dont know how to control cravings for sweets? Any suggestions?

Once every couple of weeks or so I get these strong urges to eat anything sweet including cookies, cakes, candy, and lots of it. How do I get rid of this problem, I cant seem to lose weight because of this problem. I've tried time and time again. HELP!

I have such a sweet tooth and I dont know how to control cravings for sweets? Any suggestions?
Its your period. In some people it leads to a deficiency in minerals. For some they crave salt, some sugar
Reply:cause its that time of the month! try brushing your teeth! for some reason that helps curve cravings and your teeth might get whiter!!
Reply:most cravings only last 15 minutes so if u try to think of something else when your having cravings it may curve u away from ur sweet tooth
Reply:Try chewing on salery or carrots. You can eat sweet things but make sure they are sugar free. Believe me I have the same problem. But now it's been better.
Reply:Don't just cut these out of your diet. Just set yourself a limit as to how much you can eat, so you don't binge, but still get the sweet fix.

Just have some, like three cookies a day or something. And once you've had those, don't have any more. I find a handful of chocolate chips keeps my sweet tooth happy, since I can suck on them one by one, and I can see how many I have left for the rest of the day.

Also, eating some fruit might help, since these are sweet, too.
Reply:look up the protasov diet. after 5 weeks it changes your organisms cravings so you don't want it any more.
Reply:All i do is grab a apple when i get thoes cravings
Reply:Talk to your Dr. It may be hormonal because of your period. Cravings for sweets, especially chocolates is common during "that" time of the month.
Reply:I HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM!!! what i do is tell me loved ones to take away the sweets. that way, i can't eat them at home. and with friends, i ask them to watch me. this has really helped me! hope it helps you!

have a wonderful day!
Reply:well eat healthier sweets and elimnate all other sweets.. fruits are sweet and halthy-- remove all those chocs, candys, cakes brownies from where you are grab and apple and some oatmeal rasion cookies and a bottle of water and relax witht he tv!.. sometimes a sweet tooth comes for a little and passes.. really try eatting apples or lightly choc covered strawberries-- get the nurtirion with the sweet~
Reply:I would try eating either less or eating vegetables and frueits!
Reply:your body is asking actually for nutrients and you are feeding it sugars.

if you go on a good healthy diet, take sugar out from artificial candy and what not and eat some fruit adn just a good diet you will stop craving . but you have to make the effort and give yr diet a try.
Reply:Drink a lot of water. Crystal Geyser came out with this product that you mix it with water and it tastes the same as regular sugar drinks (ice tea, raspberry, lemondade, ...) and it's sugarfree and 99% caffeine free. You may want to try this to subsitute your sugar cravings. On the other hand, eating in moderation can help too. If you really want that piece of cake or candy, just eat a little and stop.
Reply:try something as a substitute

like frozen corn

i kno it sounds crazy but it works

just eat it frozen out of th ebag
Reply:try to eat some thing like fruit
Reply:Use natural sweets. Go with fruit. It will satisfy your craving for sweets and is healthier for you. This is how I started my weight loss. I started replacing my sweets with fruit. Now I only eat fruit in the morning to keep my sugar in check all day. I am now on my way to losing over 100 lbs. I have not changed much as far as my intake but have changed the amounts and the sweets. I have been eating better for almost 3 months now and have lost over 40 lbs. If you would like to know more just ask. I am not a pro just someone like yourself trying to stick to what works for me. Hope this helps you out.
Reply:There is a diet called the cabbage food diet that has a faze in it that is meant to reduce your cravings for sweets. its a 1weekk diet of a soup that you can have as much of as you want and other stuff like potatoes, fruit, vegies and even steak!!!!. It fixes your craving and you will lose a few pounds on the way. Very effective

P.S. the recipe is on the internet somewhere. I dont remember the site, just google or yahoo "cabbage soup diet" and you sure to find it.
Reply:try each time a half or small banana, it realy helps me.
Reply:Eat more fruits as they provide adequate amounts of energy to fuel your body, taste sweet as well as being good for you. In addition because they are not processed your body will have no trouble breaking them down into glucose which is the primary energy source for your body and the reason for your cravings. Make sure the fruits you purchase from the store are non GMO(genetically modified organisms) as genetically modified food despite it being pushed by food companies is harmful for human beings and the environment.
Reply:Keep a journal of what you're eating. If you're eating high amounts of starchy carbs, you might want to try an emilinate them for 2 weeks and make sure you have protien with each meal. Starchy carbs tend to create a sugar high, but as soon as the carbs are burned off, you'll crave them again. When I eliminate them for 2 weeks, the cravings are gone. I can slowly bring the starchy carbs back in to my diet and not have the cravings anymore. Course...if I tend to notice the cravings are back, it's usually because I have a high starch content.

Good Luck!
