im 21 weeks prego and since day 1 ive craved anything sweet. right now im want ing cookie dough.LOL. is there anything that'll give me my "fix" but still be good for the baby?
Pregnant sweet tooth?
Maybe some calcium chews..they come in sweet flavors and the baby needs calcium.
It doesn't hurt to indulge your cravings once in awhile, you deserve it.

Reply:Lol. I'm of no help to you. When I need a fix, I head straight for some brownies. I don't over do it, but I have to have ONE brownie. Lol Sorry, but fruit just doesn't cut it for me.
Reply:LOL i feel for you, because it seems like the only healthy things i ever crave is fruit....... and a salad occasionally. i normally have that sweet tooth or the want for something super super salty........ Why don't you eat the cookie dough but, a small amount just to get the craving over. They say its ok to fullfill your cravings just w/in reason and don't go overboard....... Hope that helped!!!!!! i know how it feels its frustrating i know!
Reply:The only reason you crave sweets is because you are not eating enough protein. I heard this in my birthing class and put it to the test and its true. A pregnant women is suppose to have 80-120 grams of protein a day. If you get that, you won't crave sweets. Try it for a week. Eat 100 grams of protein a day for a week. You won't want the cookie dough.

Reply:Chocolate-fudgy brownie with peanut butter frosting ummmmm...yummmy..... That's what I craved when i was preggo.The sad thing is I crave sweets even worse now-i'm breastfeeding.My baby girl is 1 month old.Congrats on your pregnancy.
Reply:You can make cookie dough with pasteurized eggs (available at any grocery store), or use a non-egg recipes if you are worried about that. You could also try a sugar sandwhich with chocolate chips. A plain sugar sandwich is bread with a layer of better and then a layer of sugar - ok still not healthy *lol*. Dark chocolate is healthy I guess you could just try a few squares of that.
Also you might try increasing your fat and protein intake in your regular diet as these can contribute to sweet cravings.
Mmmm cookie dough! Now I want some -sheesh.

Reply:I also have a horrible sweet tooth. I packed my fridge with fruit, pudding w/ added calcium and light yogurt; they do help!! Plus they are healthy!
However, i do the occasional spoonful of peanut butter or dunkin donuts cinnamon roll. (trust me, stay away from those cinnamon rolls)
Reply:Don't deny yourself. Treat yourself to a little bit of cookie dough. Lol Just not the whole thing ok. I just recently started having a sweet craving. I tend to give in as long as I don't have too much. I don't know if you're a chocolate lover, but try getting the fun size candy bars( snickers, milky way).
BTW...whoever came up with the term fun size should be beaten!! Lol Nothing fun about teasing a pregnant woman.
