Is diabetes gods way of punishing people with a sweet tooth?

type 2 of course....

Is diabetes gods way of punishing people with a sweet tooth?
gluttony = deadly sin

so since so many fundies seem to think AIDS, STD's, etc are all punishments, why not...oh i know why....there's alot of them that have type 2 and are the average fatty American...THAT couldn't possibly be a sin could it?
Reply:no...lol
Reply:Like AIDS is a punishment for homosexuals? I don't believe in God. so my answer is no.
Reply:Some believers will use that as an excuse to claim that god is punishing people. Just like how people claim AIDS is gods way of punishing gay people and yet in the same breath tell someone else that god is a loving god.
Reply:You don't get diabetes by eating too many sweets.
Reply:WHAT IS THERE THAT IS NOT SWEET

Can anyone name 10 food items that have no sugar content?

It just puts these on the search for all that is not sweets and starch, a small soy patti, small amount of pinto beans, some greens.

The organ in the human body that handles sugar correctly, malfunctions for type 2, does not function for type 1. As thyroid can cease to function and also other glands ans organs.
Reply:You obviously have a lot to learn about diabetes and its causes.
Reply:i read some stupid thing in yahoo answer but this got to be the one that tops everything. You are assuming that god even cares about you. The longer you live in this planet the more you realize that something is seriously wrong with this place. If god went to a being a god intervew, the boss would not even let him in the front door.
Reply:Diabetes does not come from eating sweets!!!!!!

God is a good God!!!!!!!!!!!!

God don't punish like that!
Reply:Doubt it. Even it it was sugar, potatoes are nearly as bad. If it was sugar, spending your younger days drinking the canned or bottled products of cola companies and the prevalence of type 2 may be not entirely without explanation. Actually one New Zealand scientist suggests dairy products, particularly casein may be a factor. Since NZ is a major dairy product producer, that makes him real popular.
Reply:Time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all.

Ecclesiastes 9:11..... I returned to see under the sun that the swift do not have the race, nor the mighty ones the battle, nor do the wise also have the food, nor do the understanding ones also have the riches, nor do even those having knowledge have the favor; because time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all.

Job 34:10......Therefore, YOU men of heart, listen to me.

Far be it from the [true] God to act wickedly,

And the Almighty to act unjustly!
Reply:Yes! And the traffic ticket I got this morning was God's punishment for my lead foot, and the diarrhea I had this weekend was God's punishment for me eating Taco Bell, and the boogers I have in my eye are there because of the dirty look that came out of it toward that guy who cut me off, and I have to pay $80 to deworm my cat because God is punishing me for buying a lottery ticket.

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought my diabetes was a inherited insulin resistant trait I got from my father. Silly me!
Reply:LMAO that would be like aids being gods way of punishing people who love sex. My mother was never one for sweets, yet she has Type 2 diabetes. Getting diabetes has nothing to do with how much sugar you eat. Its a combination of many factors, race, nutrition, weight, etc...(for example:it's more likely for those of Native American heritage to get it). So it's always a good idea to take good care of yourself if you want to steer clear of getting Type 2 diabetes.
Reply:Why blame God for man's stupidity??

In the old testament we are given dietary laws, clean and unclean, etc...

this was/is for everyone...it is not a Jewish thing, it is not a Hebrew old testament thing, everyone has the same tummy and digestive system....

man eats that which is unclean...man was not supposed to eat that stuff...man was created vegetarian and after the flood a small amount of "clean" animal for food....

so today we are consuming pig, dairy, clam, lobster, etc.

unclean foods, processed foods, glow in the dark chemicals, preservatives, food dyes, sugar in anything and everything, etc...

VERY Bad eating habits, obesity, and ignorance causes diabetes ....

Why is it God's fault when man refuses to listen and gets sick??

Have you ever watched the movie "Super Size Me?" it is a documentary of a guy who ate nothing but McDonald's stuff for 30 days ...it would have killed him if he had not stopped....it took over 6 months to get his health almost back to normal....
Reply:Deuteronomy 32:4: “The Rock, perfect is his activity, For all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness, with whom there is no injustice; Righteous and upright is he.”

Job 34:10: “Therefore, YOU men of heart, listen to me. Far be it from the [true] God to act wickedly, And the Almighty to act unjustly!”

Yes, since Jehovah God is perfect in every way; since Jehovah’s ways are justice; since Jehovah does not act wickedly or unjustly, He is not the cause of the suffering that takes place on earth today. That includes, diabetes, natural disasters, deaths of children, and the list is endless.

Therefore, who is really to blame for the suffering that takes place today? Humans are to blame for much of the suffering. They fight wars, commit crimes, pollute the environment, often carry on business in a manner motivated by greed rather than concern for their fellowman, and sometimes indulge in habits that they know can be harmful to their health.

In the case of diabetes, a couple of the causes of this disease are an improper diet and lack of exercise. One’s food intake can be off-balanced. There must be balance in what you eat, drink or even the activities that you engage in. Children who develop type 2 diabetes is because when they eat, they either sit in their room or on the living room couch watching televisions for long hours or playing video games for hours at a time. Since no proper exercise is being done within that period of time, serious health problems can result. Therefore, is it reasonable to blame God for these things that humans themselves do?

Galatians 6:7: “For whatever a man is sowing, this he will also reap.” Yes, you reap what you sow. You have a bad diet, lack time for exercising, spend long hours in front of the television or computer, you bring about health problems of you own doing, not God. Something to think about.
