How to treat your sweet tooth on a diet.?

Jello works wonders if you like it. Also you can go for things sweetened with splenda or sweet and low. Another trick is if you get the urge for something sweet then you should go for something very salty. It works for me.

Reply:in moderation, keep your goal in mind and ask yourself if its worth it. Dieting is not easy, especially with a sweet tooth.
Reply:Anthony Thomas makes some great sugar free chocolate candy. Drink a lot of water before going to parties or eating. This will fill you up and your sweet tooth won't need as much to satisfy it. Graze and nibble instead of taking a huge slice of cake, take a sliver of cake and eat it slowly. Whatever you do, never deprive yourself. If you do, you will binge and it will take a lot more to satisfy you which will cause weight gain in the end.
Reply:sugar free lollipops, anything sugar free.just count the calories.also fruit as its filling and low in calories, but sweet
Reply:In moderation! You cannot, I repeat CANNOT cut out everything you love when you are on a diet or you're just setting the stage for a binge. Eat a little of whatever you love every day; being on a diet doesn't have to be cruel and unusual punishment! :)
Reply:fruit, like melons or berries.juiciness helps the craving too.
Reply:take one bar of chocolate, break into pieces, put said pieces in a freezer bag %26amp; stick it in the freezer.

if you get a craving, take a piece out %26amp; put into mouth. it takes ages to melt %26amp; i've always used it.

btw: good luck with the diet.
Reply:Retrain your habits. Eat fruit for something sweet. If that doesn't work, have a few (+/-3) pieces of dark chocolate (60% cocoa or more). There's less sugar and fat and more flavor. If you can stay away from sweets for a few months you'll fid that when you do eat them they'll be sticky and gross and will make you feel the same way.
Reply:I find pretty good satisfaction by making myself a fruit dish, like cut up banana, grapes or raisins, whatever, then adding diet sugar on top to REALLY sweeten it up some more, then add a small amount of milk. Even though I'd love to have a choc chip cookie instead, the above example concoction really does relieve my sweet tooth desires.

Or I may pout a half glass of milk, add some of that same diet sugar - a packet or two - and bit of vanilla extract (maybe a teaspoon of it). The taste is like a vanilla shake.
Reply:Nabisco has 100 cal. packs in different flavors and types of treats (I like Oreo chips)

Special K has snack bars that are yummy too! (Blueberry). Fresh fruit is great and probably your best choice. Citrus added C but Apples are the most filling. Personnel favorite has to be the peach.

Note to JK: Diabetic does not mean low calorie! I know because I am diabetic. Check your labels.
Reply:Almond or plain Honey Halva...mmmmm,yummy!
Reply:Fruit is correct.

Beleive it or not, the fruictose will take over your sweet tooth desire. Strawberries are the best for this. Use alternative sweetener for sweetening them. Cut them up, sweeten, put in frig a couple hours, let them bleed their sweetness and juices. YUM. Grapes are next. Then of course, the fruit of your choice. Make a fruit salad. Use a fat free sour cream dip, etc. Look on othe food network for recipies to help. Substitiute what you need for your diet. Drink LOTS OF WATER, this too, just before a meal, will help relinquish your desire. -- From a sweet tooth herself!
Reply:Sweets are more for the taste rather than to serve for satisfying hunger. 1 small taste is all I take whenever I can't resist. I don't need a whole piece of cheesecake or an entire canoli. Just 1 small bite is good. Then my brain isn't freaking out anymore. You can't deny yourself 100% of anything or you'll flip. 95% is more realistic. Just give yourself enough of a taste, as small as possible, to maintain your mental stability %26amp; stop right there. At least you can say you had it %26amp; now won't be so pre-occupied %26amp; distracted from thinking about it anymore. And don't eat sweets before a meal or for breakfast. Refined, simple carbs are not sustaining. It hurts to hold back but you'll be so glad you did the next day.
Reply:Weight watchers has some sweet treats you can try. I just ate a chocolate snack cake.
Reply:I would say fruit.

There are some types of apples that are really sweet - too sweet for my liking!

Ripe bananas, pineapple etc.

I found when I went off sugar, I could easily cut it in half and not notice it at all.

And was not a problem to go without in coffee or tea.

I would personally stay away from artificial sweeteners, if you need a substitute try honey or stevia or something.

There's something about north american food that is extra sweet. I don't know why, but even in a lot of baking recipes you could cut the sugar in half and it wouldn't be a problem.

You would notice in quality european baking there is a lot less sugar than we are used to - and you can taste other things because of it.

I think part of the sweet tooth thing is envrionmental. We are just used to eating a ton of sugar. When you read labels you can find sugar in places you wouldn't expect.

I'd also add, that apples, peaches, plums and some other fruits and vegetables should be organic because some produce carries a heavier toxic load from residual pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers..
Reply:Eat a bag of sugar, then throw up.
